Jesus gave that exuberant praise to the Father as the ideal way to end a prayer (Matthew 6:13). Today while praying it occurred to me that there is another big meaning to that glorious phrase—a very personal one!
The gospel Jesus preached was “the gospel of the kingdom of God” (Mark 1:14).
Paul persuaded people “concerning Jesus from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets” and he “solemnly testified of the kingdom of God” (Acts 28:23).
My New King James Bible has 1,393 pages of instructions but clearly spells out our priority: “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” (Matthew 6:33). You can be living the way of life of that glorious kingdom NOW!
The Kingdom of God is already the supreme power of the universe! You can already experience the power of the Holy Spirit in your life NOW! But God speed the blowing of the 7th trumpet when “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ” (Revelation 11:15). Jesus Christ will rule from Jerusalem, all nations will flow to it to be taught, and Judah and Israel will become the model nations for the Gentiles that they were meant to be. For the 1,000 years of the Millennium and for the Great White Throne Judgment, Jesus and His saints will establish His Kingdom of God on earth, no doubt preparing for service throughout the universe!
Something else happens when the 7th trumpet blows: Hopefully you will hear “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” (Matthew 25:34).
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us” promised Paul in Romans 8:18. God the Father and Jesus His Son are going to share it all with you!
Yes, far more than the wonderful down payment and foretaste we have now, at that time YOURS is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever!”
