Sporting the Curry family feature, there’s a lot that can found right under mine!
Hopefully a ready smile!
Thanks to my wife Mary for capturing this beauty. I couldn’t manage a good selfie side schnozzle. Thankfully it didn’t take a wide-angle lens!
Something right under our nose describes something we can’t find even though it was very close and in an obvious place.
What a shame if that something is the truth of God.
As plain as the heavens above
“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools” (Rom. 1:20-22).
David concurs with Paul, really with God who inspired them both: “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God'” (Psa. 14:1).
All around the world, that we have a Creator should be as plain as the nose on our face!
What Pentecost June 9 teaches
“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:17). In their wonderful plan of salvation, God the Father and Jesus Christ know that for now They are allowing the “god of this age” [satan] to blind most people so that the “gospel is veiled” (2 Cor. 4:3-4). A veil covers the nose and below!
But They are calling some to be firstfruits who will serve in Jesus Christ’s coming millennial government. You?
The truth is only to be found in the Bible (John 17:17). Whatever any human says—including me—you must prove it for yourself from your own Bible. You must be daily studying the Bible and asking God to open your mind to understand it.
“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Tim. 2:15).
But God works through humans. On Pentecost in A.D. 31 Jesus Christ raised up His Church of God to fulfill its Great Commission of preaching the gospel into all the world and preparing a people to serve in the Kingdom Jesus Christ will bring at His Second Coming (Matt. 28:19-20, 24:14).
Paul asked, “And how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Rom. 10:14). The Ethiopian eunuch asked Phillip, “How can I [understand what I am reading], unless someone guides me?” (Acts 8:31).
As Tim McGraw sings in his wonderful song “Humble and Kind,” “Go to church ’cause your momma says to.” I did that from a boy, but during my sophomore year of high school, I quit going because my church was full of old people and just seemed spiritually dead. Soon after that I was injured in a motorcycle accident where my right arm and leg were almost cut off, but God provided obvious miracles in my healing after the event.
So at that time, thinking God punished me for quitting church, I asked God to please show me where His true Church was. After two years of diligently checking out all the various denominations in my small town of Las Animas, in 1969 God let me find it: my Mother showed me her stack of magazines—in our house—going back to 1960 that was fulfilling the Great Commission!
Looking back, I see that she had always shared some of God’s true teachings, but she wasn’t ready to forsake all for “the pearl of great price” (Matt. 13:46).
All that time, God’s truth was right under my nose! I guess the Master Timer knew that I needed the extra two years like Joseph needed to stay in prison the extra two years because the butler didn’t speak up (Gen. 40:23, 41:1).
As you read this blog, where I’m sharing with you God’s truth from the Bible which I’ve been taught by His Church and servants for 49 years, it’s right under your nose.
