Right Under Your Nose!

nose currySporting the Curry family feature, there’s a lot that can found right under mine!

Hopefully a ready smile!

Thanks to my wife Mary for capturing this beauty.  I couldn’t manage a good selfie side schnozzle.  Thankfully it didn’t take a wide-angle lens!

Something right under our nose describes something we can’t find even though it was very close and in an obvious place.

What a shame if that something is the truth of God.

As plain as the heavens above

heavens

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.  Professing to be wise, they became fools” (Rom. 1:20-22).

David concurs with Paul, really with God who inspired them both:  “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God'” (Psa. 14:1).

All around the world, that we have a Creator should be as plain as the nose on our face!

What Pentecost June 9 teaches

“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:17).    In their wonderful plan of salvation, God the Father and Jesus Christ know that for now They are allowing the “god of this age” [satan] to blind most people so that the “gospel is veiled” (2 Cor. 4:3-4).   A veil covers the nose and below!

But They are calling some to be firstfruits who will serve in Jesus Christ’s coming millennial government.  You?

Bible cloudyThe truth is only to be found in the Bible (John 17:17).  Whatever any human says—including me—you must prove it for yourself from your own Bible.  You must be daily studying the Bible and asking God to open your mind to understand it.

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Tim. 2:15).

But God works through humans.  On Pentecost in A.D. 31 Jesus Christ raised up His Church of God to fulfill its Great Commission of preaching the gospel into all the world and preparing a people to serve in the Kingdom Jesus Christ will bring at His Second Coming (Matt. 28:19-20, 24:14).

Paul asked, “And how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Rom. 10:14).  The Ethiopian eunuch asked Phillip, “How can I [understand what I am reading], unless someone guides me?” (Acts 8:31).

My story

mcgrawAs Tim McGraw sings in his wonderful song “Humble and Kind,” “Go to church ’cause your momma says to.”  I did that from a boy, but during my sophomore year of high school, I quit going because my church was full of old people and just seemed spiritually dead.  Soon after that I was injured in a motorcycle accident where my right arm and leg were almost cut off, but God provided obvious miracles in my healing after the event.

So at that time, thinking God punished me for quitting church, I asked God to please show me where His true Church was.  After two years of diligently checking out all the various denominations in my small town of Las Animas, in 1969 God let me find it:  my Mother showed me her stack of magazines—in our house—going back to 1960 that was fulfilling the Great Commission!

pearlLooking back, I see that she had always shared some of God’s true teachings, but she wasn’t ready to forsake all for “the pearl of great price” (Matt. 13:46).

Are you?

All that time, God’s truth was right under my nose!  I guess the Master Timer knew that I needed the extra two years like Joseph needed to stay in prison the extra two years because the butler didn’t speak up (Gen. 40:23, 41:1).

As you read this blog, where I’m sharing with you God’s truth from the Bible which I’ve been taught by His Church and servants for 49 years, it’s right under your nose.

Why Are We Here? 5-4-3-2-1

Sooner or later we all ponder this question.

In a recent post in her popular blog called Beauty Beyond Bones, Caralyn asked her more than 42,000 followers what they thought the purpose for life is.

Reading through many of the responses, it struck me that I didn’t see one with any Bible references.   Just a bunch of well-meaning sincere opinions.

The purpose of life isn’t determined by the surmises of any human.  Or any great philosopher.  God reveals it in His Bible (John 17:17).

So just look there?  It’ll jump out at you right off the pages, right?  Anyone who has ever read the Bible knows it, right?

No.

God says He inspired His Bible as a puzzle so that nobody would understand it until He decides it’s the best time for them (Isa. 28:13).

Why did Jesus speak in parables?  People say so ordinary folk would understand his down-to-earth messages?   But Jesus said He spoke that way so only His disciples would understand (Matt. 13:10).

His very next Holy Day,

Pentecost on June 9

is also called the Feast of Firstfruits and teaches that God the Father and Jesus Christ are only working with firstfruits now who will then assist Jesus Christ during the Millennium and Great White Throne Judgment in working with the billions of people who will have never had their opportunity for salvation.

God’s Holy Days, most explained in Lev. 23, teach His plan of salvation.  I was shocked to learn about these amazing days that I had never even heard of—though I thought I was a Christian all my life—and I wanted to start keeping them right away!  Forty-nine years later I’m so glad God worked with me because we only understand His ways by actually doing them (Psa. 111:10).  All of the credit goes to God the Father and Jesus Christ!

So

why here

What is the purpose of life?

Building the Family of God adThe eBook you can have for FREE just by clicking on the ad to the right makes the entire Bible plain and shows why we are here.

It’s as simple as 5-4-3-2-1

In five words:  God the Father and Jesus Christ are building the Family of God!

In four words:  Two Gods become billions!

In three words:  God’s reproducing Himself!

In two words:  God Family!  God Kingdom!

In one word:  After the new heavens and earth, the only beings left are Gods!  Who will then embark on eternal ventures not yet revealed!

Is God calling you?  Is this your time (John 6:44)?  Will the cares of this life deprive you?  The first resurrection is the better one (Heb. 11:35) where the firstborn will get a double portion (Deut. 21:15-17).

Will you make the effort to read this free eBook?  Better yet, save it so you can really study it from your own Bible?  Will God open your mind to understand it?

Only you can find out!  It would be great to hear from you, in a comment or at:  robertcurry6@hotmail.com

What If We Experience a Pentecost on June 9 Like the Ones in the Bible!

We will!

Pentecost 1447-1446 B.C.

“Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth” (Exo. 19:5 New Living Translation throughout).   God was working with only them at that time and they were supposed to model and teach His way for all the others to marvel at and heed (Deut. 4:6-8).  But God knew there wouldn’t be such a heart in them (5:29) until they would receive His Holy Spirit.

“Then the LORD said to Moses, “I will come to you in a thick cloud … so the people themselves can hear me when I speak with you” (v. 9).  God was going to speak their language!

Prayer eBook ad“Go down and prepare the people for my arrival.  Consecrate them today and tomorrow, and have them wash their clothing… Get ready for the third day, and until then abstain from having sexual intercourse” (vs. 10, 14).  Later Paul would say mates should not deprive one another except with consent to give themselves to prayer and fasting (1 Cor. 7:5).   It appears that God thinks some spiritual occasions are worth giving up marital pleasure.

“On the morning of the third day, thunder roared and lightning flashed, and a dense cloud came down on the mountain.  There was a long, loud blast from a ram’s horn … All of Mount Sinai was covered with smoke because the LORD had descended on it in the form of fire” (vs. 16-18).

10CGod [the preincarnate Jesus Christ] thundered the 10 Commandments with His own booming voice!  Nobody has ever heard the Father’s voice (John 5:37).

Pentecost A.D. 31

Luke, as I do, wrote “about everything Jesus began to do and teach” (Acts 1:1).

The last thing Jesus told His disciples before He ascended into the cloud was “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.  And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (v. 8).

“On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place” (2:1).  This year (2019) happens to be the same date for the Jews keeping Sivan 6, Christianity observing the seventh Sunday after Easter, and those in the spiritual Church of God who “count 50”—the meaning of Pentecost—days like the Bible commands from the day after the Sabbath that falls during the Days of Unleavened Bread (Lev. 23:15).   Before we get too excited about Christianity keeping this one Holy Day of God, we should note that the Bible “counts on us” to keep all of them!   And this is just another example that the Holy Days of God aren’t Jewish because the Jews don’t really keep them as the Bible directs.  Some years for those who don’t count it as the Bible commands, the correct date won’t “fully come” (2:1 New King James Version).  They would miss out!

power“Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting.  Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them” (vs. 2-3).   Sounds like their hair was on fire!

“And we all hear these people speaking in our own languages about the wonderful things God has done!” (v. 11).   Speaking in tongues is not show-off gibberish!   Not babbling “confusion” (1 Cor. 14:33).   Here it was actual languages heard by 15 or more peoples.  The miracle was in the hearing!  Once again God spoke to the people through His servants.

Pentecost A.D. 69

Though not in the Bible, the first century Jewish historian Josephus writes that the priests were ministering in the temple when “they heard a great noise and after that they heard a sound as of a great multitude saying, ‘Let us remove hence.’”  A group of early Christians fled to Pella, escaping the Roman siege and sack of Jerusalem.    Could it be on a Pentecost that the Church will flee to the Place of Safety (Rev. 12:14)?  That would not be in winter or on a regular Sabbath (Matt. 24:20).

Pentecost June 9, A.D. 2019

What will this glorious Holy Day be like for us?  In 48 years of keeping this special Holy Day, we’ve never experienced such supernatural heavenly signs.  Likely the only tongues of fire will be the spirited fellowshipping!  Today God’s New Testament Church has taken the gospel around the world, and God has generally provided worship in the appropriate languages needed.  I have heard of rare instances where speaking in tongues occurred because it was needed.

Hopefully, we will say like the Israelites:  “We will do everything the LORD has commanded” (Exo. 19:8).  Whereas they decided they wanted Moses to speak with them—not God—hopefully, we will choose to listen to God’s voice as He speaks through His ministers in services!

Hopefully, our hearts will be pierced in the Pentecost services like the crowds were by Peter’s first inspired sermon for the New Testament Church of God.  Hopefully, we’ll respond:  “what should we do?”

Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.  Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (2:38).  Immediately after baptism, they received the Holy Spirit after a minister of God laid hands on them (8:16).   If you have been baptized but never had a minister of God lay hands on you to receive the Holy Spirit, you should counsel with a true minister of God.  For something of such eternal importance, you don’t want just a dunking!

With the power of the Holy Spirit living in us, we can keep the 10 Commandments that Jesus Himself gave on a long-ago Pentecost.  “If someone claims, ‘I know God,’ but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth” (1 John 2:3).

VW accordAfter His ministry of 3-1/2 years, what a surprise—even a shock—to see that the Son of God had only 120 disciples.  Back then, the fad wasn’t to see how many you could squeeze into a VW; they were in one Accord! (Acts 1:14-15).   Pardon my fun!

Pentecost pictures the firstfruits harvest.  God isn’t working with many today.   Though all who have ever lived might number about 140 billion, and they will all have their opportunity for salvation in the Master Timer’s good plan, Rev. 14:1-4 says there are only 144,000 firstfruits.   About one-millionth!  God is not frantically trying to save the world today in a losing race against satan.  God has given satan rulership of the world for now (2 Cor. 4:4) until he will be removed, likely on the first Day of Atonement of Christ’s millennial reign (Rev. 20:1-3).  While satan is bound, most people will at last have their opportunity for salvation during the Millennium and Great White Throne Judgment pictured by the fall Holy Days—with us firstfruits who had to resist him assisting Jesus Christ in teaching them!  That’s a big reason the firstborn get a double portion (Deut. 21:17)!

But what separates His firstfruits who are Philadelphian from those who are lukewarm Laodicean is their passion for doing the Work of fulfilling the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20, Matt. 24:14).  God has opened doors that no man can shut so we must be taking the gospel to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8), as I’m trying to do in this blog, rather than just trying to save our own skin.

A greater miracle than mighty heavenly signs is for you to experience conversion and character through the power of the Holy Spirit.

God Guided Joseph, and He’s Guiding Us

I have always heard that God is guiding our lives in this world to have the training and experience and aptitudes and skills that He has in mind for us to use in His Kingdom of God.

The shepherd who will be serving over the 12 Tribes of Israel in the millennium began as a shepherd.  The father of the faithful, when told by God to depart to a land He would show him, didn’t know where he was going but he departed in faith.  God made him a father by the miraculous birth of Isaac when he was age 100.  And God has been calling his descendants to be faithful like he was!  You, I hope!

So it makes me wonder what my destiny is!

That’s why the story of Joseph is my favorite in the Bible.  God directed him from slavery to second in command of Egypt.  Joseph had no idea what God was leading him to.  He had no opportunity to analyze his abilities and make career choices.

It’s not easy for a dreamer to figure out where there is a pharaoh in need!  But we should follow our dreams anyway.

I have heard God called

Our Personnel Director

In seeking a job at college, I was ushered in with another student before the Personnel Director.  “Which one of you wants to be a custodian and which a landscaper?” he asked.   I let the other guy choose.  I wasn’t trying to be like Abraham who let Lot choose.   I just didn’t know which I preferred.  The other guy chose landscaping.  I got window washing.   Despite my best efforts, I could never get them spotless on the first squeegee pass.  By summer I was transferred to the typing/proofreading/office side which has always been key to my career path.  Thank you, God, the Master Timer!

Psa. 31:15 (New Living Translation) says, “My future is in your hands.”  What a promise in Jer. 29:11:  “For I know the plans I have for you … They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.  In those days when you pray, I will listen.  If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”

When you think your life is the pits!

Joseph pitJoseph stared up at the sky from a pit, wondering if his jealous brothers would return to kill him or simply leave him to rot.  But God was leading Joseph toward a destiny beyond his imagination.

Prov. 16:9 assures, “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”  Joseph didn’t have opportunity to make any plans.  But he always obeyed God wherever God took him.

Temptation AdHe resisted the daily advances of Potiphar’s wife.  When she “cast longing eyes” on him, he didn’t sucker for the bait.  When she tempted “Lie with me,” he didn’t say “OK, you tell one and then I’ll tell one.”  His godly response was “How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” (Gen. 39:7-9).

Psa. 37:23 (NLT) says:  “The Lord directs the steps of the godly.  He delights in every detail of their lives.”

Every step of the way, God was with Joseph, bringing him toward a destiny so masterfully designed.

Friday I visited with a prisoner who is a Church member and has served 33 years for a crime he didn’t commit.  When I asked him if he felt “guided by God,” he said all he knows is that every day he commits himself to:  “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me” (Matt. 16:24).

In two different prisons, everyone I have ever mentioned his name to has always said “Oh, he’s a good guy!”  Other prisoners regularly ask him “What does the Bible say about” various issues.

But God hasn’t given him favor like He did Joseph and made him head over all the prison functions!    Not yet!  In the Kingdom he may get a reward higher than even being second in command of Egypt.  Who even knows who’s second in command of Egypt today?   First in command?  Is anybody in command!

Things weren’t always so peachy for Joseph either.  Have you ever noticed Psa. 105:17-22?

And how crushing it must have been for Joseph when the butler forgot to say anything about him like Joseph asked, and Joseph had to endure two more years in the prison!

The door may not open today or even tomorrow.
In the meantime, God wants us to serve diligently in the opportunities we already have, that He has already given us.

For some months now I’ve been praying God will lead me to the right working-at-home opportunity to use the talents and gifts He’s given me to prepare for future service and make some extra money to be able to serve more now.  So far nothing is working out, but Psa. 92:8 promises “still bear fruit in old age …”

God’s promises are sure:

“I will guide you along the best pathway for your life” (Psa. 32:8 NLT).

The way God has directed my life, I believe I will likely serve in communications, maybe working on The Jerusalem Post.   My main employment was as executive assistant so perhaps I’ll be doing that.  When I got to work in the Graphics Department for the National Association of Counties in Washington, D.C., I realized that rather than be sent out to a far-flung post, I want to be right at Jesus Christ’s headquarters.  Then you never really have to say goodbye to loved ones because everybody comes back sooner or later.  Of course, God may have better ideas for me!

When Joseph revealed himself to his brothers, he at last could see what God had been doing through him:  “God sent me before you to preserve life … So now it was not you who sent me here, but God” (Gen. 45:5, 8).

“He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers” (Rom. 2:7 NLT).

“You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever” (Psa. 16:11).

God is leading us to a glorious destiny! (Psa. 73:24).

What’s Our Specific Glorious Destiny?

Talk about a destination:  a son or daughter in the Family and Kingdom of God for all eternity!

But what more specifically is my destination?   Yours?  Inquiring minds want to know!

Abraham is Father of the faithful (Rom. 4:11).  Sarah Mother of the faithful.  No doubt they will serve in a servant leadership role directly under Christ when He returns to earth and sets up His millennial government in Jerusalem.

Key of David eBook adDavid said he’d be happy to be a doorkeeper (Psa. 84:10).  But he’s going to be over the 12 Tribes of Israel (Ezk. 34:23, 37:24).   For the times he will face challenges from the stiff-necked Israelites, maybe he will be wishing he was just a doorkeeper.   Where all you have to worry about is “Let ‘em in, or don’t let ‘em in!”

Jesus promised the 12 Apostles that they would each be over a Tribe of Israel (Matt. 19:28).  That’s all the offices spelled out in the Bible, though you’d have to guess that Paul will be over the Gentiles.

The Bible mentions six roles of service:  kings and priests (Rev. 5:10, judges (1 Cor. 6:2), teachers (Isa. 30:20), princes (Psa. 45:16) and mayors over two or five cities (Luke 19:17-19).   Who will get Las Animas!

Parables show that we will be rewarded with service opportunities according to what we did in this life with our God-given talents/ability, time and effort.

How Pentecost factors in

God’s people will soon be keeping His Holy Day of Pentecost on June 9.

At Mt. Sinai in approximately 1447-1446 B.C. God gave Israel His glorious law of liberty.  But the problem was:  “Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep all My commandments, that it might be well with them and with their children forever!” (Deut. 5:29).  Yes, a dynasty!   But they didn’t have the converted heart for it.  Jesus said those called great in the Kingdom of God will be whoever “does and teaches” His commandments (Matt. 5:19).  We have to be learning His laws, keeping them, and becoming able to teach them—now but also in the millennium.

On Pentecost A.D. 31, God started His Church and gave His Holy Spirit, enabling us to keep the spiritual intent of His laws.

I never thought of this before, but thanks to the Holy Spirit making it possible for the Church to fully express God’s commandments of love, we can become Gods in the God Family and Kingdom, and what is God:  LOVE!  A lovely tie-in!

Lesson from the recent Days of Unleavened Bread

Ford FiestaAs I was cleaning our Ford Fiesta, with the specific purpose of getting out any leavened crumbs that accumulated in the past year from Ruffles, Oreos and the like, it struck me how this year the crumbs and grime were so crusted in the carpet and upholstery that I couldn’t budge them loose even with my powerful dry vac crevice suction.    I had to scrape on it with a big screwdriver with lots of pressure to separate it!

A wonderful object lesson about how tenacious our sins can be!

When finished each year, I remark “there, my sinless car!”  One year one of my daughters remarked “only if you stay out of it!”

As we prepare for Pentecost, we need to keep in mind that the Holy Spirit is the greatest power in the universe.  There is no need to wait for some other power to help us overcome.

Encore!

EncoreFor the annual Canon City Blossom Festival the first weekend of May, Mary and I went to listen to the Canon City High School Encore Choir.  After three  beautiful songs by the choir, what a surprise that a female judge came up and took the baton from the Encore director.  The Encore Choir is #1 in the state, and was it funny watching the agony and disdain of the director sidelined over by the piano.  I could just imagine him thinking:  “How dare she think she can improve on my Encore choir that the #1 director in the state has guided to its #1 rank!”

Imagine the pressure on the judge to find something to help them improve.  But she definitely helped them shape some of the phrases more effectively up and down to make them more powerful and emotional.

We need to accept correction because God corrects every son and daughter He loves (Heb. 12:4).  But we should go farther and actually seek it.

With such humility, God will more easily “Lead me in the right path, O Lord … make your way plain for me to follow” (Psa. 5:8).

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.  Seek His will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take” (Prov. 3:5-6).   He will lead us to

Our glorious destiny!

We don’t need to wait until June 9 to ask God daily for all nine of the fruits of the Holy Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23).  “If you then … know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will our heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:13).

God guided Joseph, and He’s guiding us to a glorious destiny!

Leading Us to a Glorious Destiny

Las AnimasWho knows where Las Animas is?

I grew up in Las Animas, CO, which in Spanish means “The Soul” but the full name is “City of Lost Souls in Purgatory.”  The Purgatory River flows south of town.

When I was in high school I remember pondering often about what to do after graduation in 1969.

Festus HaggenBack then, the only famous person from Las Animas that I had ever heard of was Festus Haggen of Gunsmoke [Ken Curtis (born
Curtis Wain Gates, July 2, 1916 – April 28, 1991)].   Our town’s slogan was “home of Festus Haggen and our Mayor’s name is Kitty.”

Fifty years later I’ve still never heard of anybody from Las Animas in the news except Robert Blackburn from my oldest sister’s class ahead of me who just retired as a Colorado Federal Judge.

The good news is that all the people I’ve ever known from Las Animas have lived lives of steady, quiet, solid contribution.  Farmers.  Radio DJ.  Auto Parts Manager.  I don’t know of any divorced.  I don’t know of any in trouble with the law.

It reminds me of Ps. 37:3:  “Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.”  Steady Christian dailyness is good! It might keep away so many big showy, splashy encounters!

So far I haven’t achieved some great destiny to put Las Animas on the map either.

But I know this:

Psa. 73:24 not only promises, “You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny.”  But it’s happening!

A local church funny billboard here in Canon City says “You need God’s GPS:  God’s Plan of Salvation!

Sadly, people have lots of wrong ideas about what God’s Plan of Salvation is.  Why?  Because God reveals our ultimate destiny and how we can attain it through His Holy Days.   I tell you the truth in love that you must keep these days to truly understand God’s plan (Psa. 111:10).   They are days of joy!

God reveals those Holy Days in Lev. 23 and then throughout the Bible.  The next one is Pentecost on June 9.  And it’s all about God leading us to a glorious destiny!   God started His Church on Pentecost in A.D. 31 and gave His Holy Spirit to power us to our destiny!

One of the names of Pentecost is the Feast of Harvest (Exo. 23:16).  God established His annual Holy Days around the harvest seasons in the Middle East.   His three festival seasons (Passover/Days of Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, and Feast of Tabernacles/Eighth Day) show us how the Master Timer is harvesting people for eternal life in His Kingdom.

We want to be a harvested grain that is whole mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually!   We want to be an SMO = spiritually modified organism!  Or a GMO, a God modified one!

Another name for Pentecost,

The Feast of Firstfruits

is especially exciting for what it promises.  Pentecost pictures the first part of the spiritual harvest—the calling out of the Church—the called-out ones:  the firstfruits (James 1:18, Rom. 8:23).

The first resurrection is the better one of the three coming by far.

The firstborn are promised a double portion (Deut. 21:17).   What’s that amount to?  Among other blessings, we have the destiny of being part of the Bride of Christ!  And we have the destiny of being in on the ground floor of the Kingdom of God with the best opportunities for service!

Wow, who has ever heard of a better destiny that is joy unspeakable and full of glory!

Yes!  But what’s my specific glorious destiny?  Inquiring minds want to know!

A Parallel Universe Does Exist!

Star TrekIn the 1967 “Mirror, Mirror” episode of the original Star Trek, a transporter accident places Capt. Kirk’s landing party in an alternate universe where the Enterprise is serving a barbaric empire.  An allure of science fiction is that reality often catches up with imagination.  Even the most far-fetched futuristic prediction might come true.   Surely we’ll someday discover that parallel universes exist.   Wait, we don’t even have working transporters yet!  And who wants to volunteer to try one out!   Not this guy who has no plans to ride in a driverless car!

Below is a shocking video by Geordie Rose predicting that we will soon use quantum computers that can exploit parallel universes.  He boldly makes three predictions:

  1.  By 2018 an earth-like planet with water and conditions for life will be found.   Mr. Rose doesn’t say it, but we could go corrupt it like we have the earth God gave us.
  2. By 2023 An experiment will prove parallel universes exist.
  3. By 2028 intelligent machines created through quantum computers will outpace humans in everything.

I won’t pretend to understand this video, and I hope I have stated Mr. Rose’s predictions somewhat accurately, but I do know

The truth about parallel universes

because God reveals it in the Bible.   There is a parallel universe—only one—a spiritual one where God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son and millions of angels live.  God is outside of time and space.  God created this earth and three heavens:  the clouds and atmosphere, the solar system of stars and galaxies, and the third heaven where God’s throne is—in the north.   After He was resurrected, Jesus went there and back in one day, probably at the speed of thought.

Many times in the Bible God specifies that earth is and will always be the home of the meek.   People praise the Beatitudes but don’t believe them.

The Privileged Planet book and video by Guillermo Gonzalez and Jay
Richards in 2004 showcased how the earth is perfectly situated for
complex life to exist and is located in the sweet spot of the Milky Way
between its Sagittarius and Perseus arms. In fact, it appears that our
galactic home may well be in the very center of the ever-expanding
universe.

Moreover in marvelousness, earth’s location in the solar system and in
the Milky Way provides the best spot from which to study the universe
and discover its mysteries. The most significant point of this is that
the God who created it all positioned His kids to be able to
discover Him!

Despite all the breathless pronouncements that more earths will surely be found, say by 2018 as in the video, NONE has and NONE will.”

The real revelation is that this is so because after the Great White Throne Judgment period on the earth ends, a new heaven and new earth—made of spirit—is coming down to replace this earth which will have been purged of all things physical and sinful by the Lake of Fire.  No physical humans left—only glorified God Beings!  And God the Father will come down to live here!

Who needs an experiment

to prove some parallel universe?  The Bible reveals this one spiritual parallel universe!   “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse” (Rom. 1:20).   Nobody thinks a Rolex put itself together, so nobody should think the great celestial timepiece did so either.

2 God BeingsWhat do the heavens say about the Godhead?  We can see two bright lights just like the Bible reveals God and the Word (John 1:1).

God will not allow plans of intelligent machines to outpace or replace humans by 2028 because

God’s very purpose is to reproduce Himself

by changing physical humans into spiritual Gods in His Family and Kingdom.   He doesn’t want yellow pencils and He doesn’t want obedient machines; He wants sons and daughters of righteous character to join His Godhead mentioned in Rom. 1:20.

Tower of BabelGod had to stop mankind at the Tower of Babel because “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them” (Gen. 11:6).   Daily we hear more bizarre proposals!  God gave His children their Spirit in Man which gave them some God-like attributes of creativity.  God says whatever they think to do, they will find a way to do it.

The nexus that connects this physical universe with the spiritual one is when God combines His Holy Spirit with our Spirit in Man so we can comprehend the things of God (1 Cor. 2:11).

Today the Internet is our Tower of Babel.   “And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved [alive]; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened” (Matt. 24:22).   I hope the 2028 prediction is accurate in the sense that Jesus would need to come back before then to save us from destructing ourselves.  Thy kingdom come before we blow ourselves to it!

Jesus became God in the flesh to come live among us.  He did not die in several parallel universes.    He died once for all (Heb. 10:10).

Few Know About a Tithe—That’s for Yourself & Your Family!

Last post I showed you that God expects tithing and blesses those who do.   If you are tithing, you will have experienced God’s blessings physically and spiritually, and you will be eager to learn more about God’s amazing complete financial system.

I’m not exaggerating when I say that what I’m about to share with you here from the Bible can literally change your life.

Did you notice that God through Malachi commanded “tithes” plural!

$   Festival Tithe

In Deut. 14:22-26 God commands a second 10%, but this one is for you and your family!  To not only be able to afford to keep the Holy Days God commands but to rejoice before God and spend that money for whatever your heart desires.”

Talk about a blessing which too few experience:  like a paid vacation!  Especially the Feast of Tabernacles which you can celebrate in popular tourist destinations around the world.  Thanks to keeping the Feast for 48 years, as God commands, I have traveled to Israel and Jordan twice, Europe, the Scandinavian countries, Canada coast to coast, Mexico, Australia/New Zealand, and all 50 states!  People ask me how I could afford to do it.  God makes it possible by blessing me for saving 10% of the money He blesses my family with to go “fear” and “rejoice” before Him!  This year we’re aiming for Steamboat Springs, Colorado!

Actually, the biggest blessing is that you will be saving the Second Tithe because you recognize that it is intimately connected with keeping God’s commanded Holy Days.  That puts you in a select club right there:  the “little flock” (Luke 12:32) on the “narrow, difficult path that few find” (Matt. 7:14).

Building the Family of God adYou will be blessed to keep God’s Holy Days which reveal His amazing plan of salvation!  At these seven annual holy days is the only time the Church of God passes an offering plate around, as God directs in Deut. 16:16-17.  You give as you are “able according to the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you.”  Few know about the second tithe and about Holy Day offerings because few know about the Holy Days and few know God’s plan of salvation.

In this blog, I tell you about God’s Holy Days.  Second tithe is God’s way for you to not only keep them but rejoice in them!

The next one is Pentecost on June 9, 2019

One of the main messages of Pentecost is that few are being called in this age to be the firstfruits to help Jesus Christ in His millennial government.  There we will teach God’s complete financial system if we are learning it and living it now.

With God’s complete financial system, we’re talking not just financial blessings where you can’t explain how your money—really God’s which He lets you use—stretches so far, but we’re talking joy-unspeakable-and-full-of-glory spiritual blessings.  God says our hearts follow our treasure (Matt. 6:21).  The spiritual blessings are the best of all.

For those just learning about Second Tithe and the Holy Days who haven’t had time to save up enough to attend the Feast of Tabernacles, and for the poor who just don’t have much, those with excess get further blessed by helping these brethren.  Those with enough 2T can go out for dinner at the start or finish of a Holy Day to fellowship with other brethren and hopefully invite those who don’t have as much.  The Church of God administers festival funds fairly to all.

Squaw Valley
My first year, I was generously given a dorm room, a cafeteria card and about $90 spending money to enjoy the Feast in breathtaking Squaw Valley, California!

What an awesome financial plan.  I have lived this complete system for 49 years and know the power of it for all!  You have time to save Second Tithe for keeping the Feast in October.   Who else wants to be blessed!

God Expects Tithing & Blesses Those Who Do

My Mom taught me that as a boy, and I grew up experiencing that.  I worked for my Dad in the family laundry from age seven and always had money to go shopping on the weekend with my Mom or either Aunt Margie or Aunt Irene.  I looked forward all summer to the day to buy school supplies and clothes, and I could mostly buy my own.

Eventually, I learned that

The Bible commands tithing both in the Old and New Testaments

so there’s no question a Christian should tithe.  Actually, we should be begging for the opportunity because it’s the best investment we could possibly make.  The Power of the Universe who owns everything gives us all our needs and our right desires, and then commands 10% back of what’s really all His anyway.  And then on top of that, He heaps blessings physical and spiritual so we can give all the more!

First, let me address your natural suspicion, I won’t be asking you to send me money (Matt. 10:8).  God wants His gospel to go free.  Freely I have received and freely I give to you.  If WordPress sticks any ads on this blog, it’s not by my wishes.

$   Tithes & Offerings

robber“Return to Me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts … Will a man rob God?  Yet you have robbed Me! …. In tithes and offerings.  You are cursed with a curse, for you have robbed Me, even this whole nation.  Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house” (Mal. 3:7-10).

We’d better make sure we can see through the slits who it is we’re ripping off!  And we’d need a bigger gun against the Being who wields lightning bolts!  Is our nation—our world—cursed enough yet?

In the Old Testament, tithes went to the Levites so they could direct the nation spiritually (Lev. 30:30).  God called tithes “the Lord’s” and “holy to the Lord.”  We should not leave tithing “undone” (Matt. 23:23).

One of the two main ways given in the Bible to return to God is to tithe and give offerings.

With money we always want to know the return.  Here’s the amazing return God promises:  “Try Me now in this … if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it” (v. 10).  God challenges us to test Him!

The first time I officially tithed in deliberative spiritual testing, I wasn’t making much but I gave $25 of the $250.   I mailed it off along with a prayer to God that I was putting His promise to the test.  That night at my high school graduation, I wasn’t even listening when they called out my name as the winner of a $100 scholarship because they hadn’t given my older sister anything to that college the year before.  At the time it didn’t occur to me what had just happened.  Later that night back home, God poked my spirit that “I just gave you four times back!”  Chills!

Experience shows that God usually gives a quick surprise blessing for stepping out in faith as an encouragement to keep going.   If you haven’t been tithing, look at the opportunity staring you in the face!

In all phases of His complete financial plan, God promises:  “Give, and it will be given to you:  good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom.  For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you” (Luke 6:38).  We can’t outgive God.  Somehow what’s left will go farther and we likely have no idea how!

God also specifies “and offerings.”  That’s where God can really see what’s in our hearts—like the widow who gave her two mites with all her might!

God blesses anybody who obeys Him regularly with tithes and offerings, especially if they “give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor. 9:7).  The Greek word for “cheerful” is HILAROS = “hilarious”!   When God sees the paltry sum most professing Christians put in the offering plate, you have to wonder if He mutters “You honestly think you’re so generous, loving and giving … that’s a laugh!”

Statistics say Americans give on average roughly 2% of their income, and the average Christian gives less than 2.5%; ironically, during the Great Depression it was 3.3%!

Notice God’s promised return here:  “God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work” (v. 8).   We’re talking far more than dollars and cents; we’re talking relationship with God, His Church and His Work!

A big question

Where do you send the tithes and offerings?  How do you get it to God’s “house” of food?  In my life God blessed me even when I only gave tithes and offerings to what I now know to be a false church.  That’s how generous God is in backing up His test-me-now promise!

Today God has no Levitical system.  Abraham had direct contact with Melchizedek who was the preincarnate Jesus Christ to give his tithes to (Heb. 7:14, Gen. 14:18-20).   It’s worth noting that Melchizedek offered Abraham bread and wine so it may have been at Passover time.  Jacob wrestled with that same God and pledged to tithe (Gen. 28:22).  It has been calculated that their huge herds today would be worth several millions of dollars!

Building the Family of God adToday the ideal joy is finding the spiritual Church of God that is fulfilling the Great Commission of Matt. 28:18-20 and 24:14.  After almost losing my right arm and leg in a motorcycle accident at the end of my sophomore year of high school, accompanied by many miraculous circumstances that showed me God was dealing with me, I thought God had punished me for quitting what I knew was a dead church and I asked Him to please show me where His true Church was.  I knew God doesn’t ask an arm and a leg!  After a two-year journey of growth, He showed me.  Ironically, He used my mother to show me!

The first step in God’s amazing financial system is to tithe and give offerings.  The carnal mind hates the law of God (Rom. 8:7) and is screaming “I can’t afford to give that!”  God says “You can’t afford not to.  Just test Me now.  Let Me bless you!”
